Living incognito is having one’s true identity disguised or concealed. The assumed name of a person operating under a false identity.
The idea of living incognito is one that graffiti artists have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Basically living two separate lifestyles. Sometimes these two lives crossover and clash, causing trouble for the individual and others around them. Their ideals are seen as unacceptable in societies eyes.
For this exhibition we have brought together some of Australia’s most prolific graffiti/street artists, whom have had to deal with this predicament for a long time. In this exhibition they will be exploring the different persona’s they have had to undertake and the various clashes with society and authority they have had to deal with.
The artist will be exhibiting three to four artworks each, on self made wooden canvases at a predetermined size. This will create an even playing field for the artists to produce their masterpieces.
PLAY BAR is very excited to announce we will be hosting this even on Thursday evening, 22 August 2013. The show will commence with the art on display & a few sponsor supplied drinks from 6-9PM, at which point the after party will commence with a few fat beats supplied courtesy of Taylor Ferney & Cav Smith.
