Taking to the stage with violin, keyboards and turntables, The Asthmatix have been blending the art of klezmer, hip hop, middle eastern melodies and turntablism since 2007. Band members include Micha ‘Morphingaz’ Walter on beats & cuts, Daniel ‘Weltmachine’ Weltlinger on violin, Daniel ‘Flying Wood’ Pliner on keys & melodica and occasionally Yossi ‘Asparagus’ Mlynsky on decks.

The Asthmatix have recently returned from the European summer where they traced their Baltic roots in Lithuania and Latvia, composed new sounds on keyboards and portable turntables purchased at Hamburg and Berlin flea markets and they recorded atmospheres from the Jerusalem shuk, the seas of Stockholm and the gypsy festivals of Germany.
The Asthmatix have nearly completed producing their first full length album and are currently planning an Australian tour in late April with a return visit to Europe this year for summer.

The Blue Mountains have produced an impressive array of musical talent over the years, and 2014 is set to be a great year for 10 piece collective Cooking with Caustic.
